Name: Johanna Constantine Door: Door Pass (Submissive) Canon: Sandman (Netflix) Canon Point: post-episode 3 Age: 35 Appearance: PB History: Wiki Personality: + Humanist: Despite the fact that she seems to shun romantic relationships, and that she has a deathly fear of losing people closest to her, Johanna does exhibit a very high degree of loyalty to the people she considers her friends. She has most peoples' best interests at heart, and she won't hesitate to help someone she cares about. She comes at the behest of her friend Erica the Vicar ("Ric the Vic"), when summoned for an exorcism, even in the middle of the night when she'd rather be sleeping. She'd done the same for Astra Logue's father, when Astra had texted her for help, despite the danger, and tried valiantly but fruitlessly to save Astra when the hellmouth reached out to grab her. - Guilt-ridden: Johanna is haunted by the spectres of those she wasn't able to save. Astra Logue, only a young girl, is sucked into a portal to Hell when her father recklessly summons demons, despite Johanna's attempts to save her. She has nightmares of the event, even years after the fact, and it's only because of Dream of the Endless and his gratitude toward her for helping him locate his sand, that her nightmare of Astra finally ends. It's implied by an earlier conversation with Dream, though, that this has happened before, and it's likely it will happen again, and this guilt plays a major part in why her romantic relationships end up failing - because she's afraid of losing those she falls in love with. - Ruthless: She's single-minded in the pursuit of her goals, almost to a fault. During the exorcism in the church, when she begins the exorcism of the demon Agilieth, both Agilieth and Dream of the Endless implore her to stop when the demon suggests to Dream that he knows the location of his helmet in Hell. Johanna ignores both of them, even when the demon seems to take Dream's side and shouts at her, "Dream of the Endless commands you to stop!" Her response to that is immediate, and one of the best lines in the series: "Run along and fuck off back to Hell." She lets nothing stand in her way of accomplishing what she needs to - and that includes romantic relationships, when she becomes too afraid of them/too uncertain whether they'll work out or not. - Commitment-phobic: Johanna insists she works alone, and it's not just for work that she seems to shun partnerships. She has a long string of failed relationships that seem to trail behind her. When she and Dream are discussing why the sand was left with her ex-girlfriend, Rachel Moodie, Johanna's response is a flippant, "Because it never ends well, does it?" This bravado and cynicism is just a cover, though, for the fact that deep down she knows she's frightened of committing herself wholly to one person, as evident in the dream she has in Rachel's apartment because of the sand. The specter of Rachel in her dream tells her that she's a selfish coward who ruins everything she touches, and Johanna can't even refute it. Powers and Abilities: Johanna's powers as a sorceress mainly focus on demonology and necromancy, and include but are not limited to:
